Announcements Bertha Watson Memorial Scholarship Recipient
EARS President Andrew John W8OU congratulates Jennay Lutomski for being the 2009 recipient of the Bertha Watson Memorial Scholarship. Jennay is a graduate of Shawnee High School and will attend UCO this upcoming fall. Proud parents Butch KD5WGA and Jennifer were also in attendance.
General Licensing Course - Spring 2009
The EARS sponsored Spring 2009 General Licensing Course kicked off on March 17 with eighteen students enrolled. The course runs eight weeks and includes a hands-on antenna building class.
2008 Ham of the Year
EARS congratulates Clara Granger KG5UG as the 2008 Ham of the Year! Clara always has a warm smile for everyone as she serves as Health and Welfare Coordinator, registrar for licensing classes and so much more.
EARS Salutes Aeronautical ARC

2008 Fall Technician Licensing Course

Amateur Radio Week On behalf of Edmond Amateur Radio operators, EARS President Andrew John W8OU accepted a Proclamation from the Edmond Mayor and City Council for Amateur Radio Week. Amateur Radio Week runs from June 22nd through June 28th and culminates in the Field Day event.
Scholarship Recipient Congratulations go out to Julie Bakel, a student at Edmond North, who is the 2008 recipient of the EARS Bertha Watson Memorial Scholarship. The $500 scholarship to UCO is given annually and is matched by the UCO Foundation for a total of $1,000. Thanks also to Dennis and Dory Wooley for their efforts as Scholarship Coordinators.
General Licensing Course
Eight students are making their way towards getting their General ticket in the EARS sponsored spring course.
D-Star Access D-Star repeaters in the NE Oklahoma City area are currently being tested. The repeater information is as follows: VHF (down currently, but should be working soon): 147.345 +0.6 MHz Callsign: WD5AII_C UHF (currently on air @ 600' - ~20-50 mi range): 442.625 +5 MHz Callsign: WD5AII_B
